Last fall, I hosted a giveaway for a complimentary couple photo session, and one amazing couple ended up being the lucky winners. Life got busy, schedules filled up, and months passed before we could finally make the session happen. But sometimes the best moments are worth waiting for.

This spring, they finally found the perfect time to make the trip to Kelowna for their long-awaited photo session. And honestly, everything lined up perfectly. We were gifted one of those beautiful Okanagan spring days with warm temperatures.

What started as a relaxed and romantic couple session quickly became something even more meaningful. Unknown to her, this wasn’t just a photo session anymore, it had secretly turned into a proposal session.

As we wandered through some stunning locations, capturing candid moments and genuine connection between them, the nervous excitement slowly started building. Then came the moment. He got down on one knee, completely catching her by surprise. The emotions were real, heartfelt, and unforgettable. And of course… she said yes!

Being trusted to document such an important chapter in someone’s life is something I never take for granted. From a simple giveaway entry last fall to a surprise engagement this spring, this session became a reminder of why I love photography so much. Sometimes photos are more than just images, they become memories tied to life-changing moments.

Congratulations again to this incredible couple. I’m so glad everything worked out exactly the way it was meant to.
