This couple joined me for their engagement photo session at Evely Campground in Killiney Beach, just outside of Vernon, and it turned into one of those mornings that reminds me why I love photographing couples in the Okanagan. Their engagement session was included complimentary with my Classic Wedding Package, giving us the perfect opportunity to slow down, explore nature together, and capture their relationship in a genuine and relaxed way before their wedding day.
Our goal for the session was simple, to create timeless engagement photos surrounded by nature and the beautiful yellow arrowleaf balsamroot flowers that bloom throughout the Okanagan hillsides every spring. We honestly got incredibly lucky with timing. The flowers were right at the very end of their season, covering the hillside in vibrant yellow while still looking full and beautiful. Not kidding, if we had waited even one more week, most of them would have been wilted and gone. It felt like perfect timing, almost as if nature had held on just long enough for their session.
One of my favorite things about photographing engagement sessions is getting to see how every couple interacts differently. They brought such a calm and playful energy together. These photos will become memories tied to a season of life, the excitement before the wedding day, the anticipation of what’s ahead, and the simple joy of being together in a beautiful place.
