A Beautiful Naramata / Penticton Wedding at Origin Wines

Sometimes the wedding days that don’t go exactly according to plan become the ones you remember most. That was certainly the case for this beautiful Okanagan wedding.

The couple travelled from Alberta expecting to celebrate their wedding on a ranch in Summerland. But just three weeks before their big day, wildfires in the area meant they had to find a completely new venue on short notice. Fortunately, they discovered Origin Wines in Penticton, located on the beautiful Naramata Bench. Even better, the winery had just completed a brand-new barn with enough space to comfortably welcome all of their wedding guests.

The original plan was to have the ceremony outdoors, but wedding day weather had another idea. With rain coming down, the ceremony was moved inside the new barn. There was just one small problem—the tables had already been beautifully set and decorated for the reception. Before the ceremony could begin, everything had to be carefully pushed to the side to create space for the couple and their guests.

After the ceremony, when the rain stopped, we were able to head outside for family photos and bridal portraits. The bridal party even came prepared with umbrellas, turning what could have been a weather challenge into a fun and memorable part of their wedding photography. The combination of dramatic skies, the beautiful vineyard surroundings, umbrellas, and genuine moments between the couple and their loved ones created images that felt completely unique to their day.
